Orange Creamsicle Power Smoothie

I looooove a really good smoothie and often find myself making one when I’m in need of healthy nutrients in a hurry, want breakfast to take on-the-go, or when I want a quick snack in the afternoon! I created this delicious Orange Creamsicle Power Smoothie and added extra superpowers to it with some great supplements that I found at Whole Foods!

I purchase the majority of my supplements from Whole Foods, including protein powders, maca powder, flax seed, chia seeds, and herbal supplements, so I know I’ll be majorly stocking up this week!

I specifically created this Orange Creamsicle Power Smoothie so that you could have a quick breakfast or snack on-the-go, which is not only delicious but also loaded with a good dose of protein, superfoods and healthy fats, which will leave you feeling great! I used a really tasty plant-based, grain-free protein powder from Garden of Life, which is full of amazing superfoods, such as flax, chia seeds, raw enzymes and even raw probiotics! I love finding a great protein powder (like the one I used in the image below) that packs a punch with nutrients and isn’t loaded with any junk.

I also added Sunfood Superfoods Raw Organic Maca powder to this Orange Creamsicle Smoothie, which I’ve been using for years and LOVE! Maca can help to balance hormones, as well as improve energy, memory and mood. Maca has been an amazing addition to my life and I highly recommend checking it out for yourself!

Supplements have become a super hot topic lately, and with good reason. So, where do supplements fit into your life? I believe that’s totally up to you! While I don’t personally believe that you can out-supplement a poor diet and lifestyle, I do believe that they can be a really great boost to an already healthy lifestyle, which is exactly how I use them.

Orange Creamsicle Power Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup full fat coconut milk (I used Whole Foods 365 Brand)
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 1 teaspoon maca powder (I used Sunfood Raw Organic Maca Powder)
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I used Garden of Life Organic Plant Protein)

Instructions

  1. Place all of the ingredients into your blender and blend on high until smooth. Enjoy immediately!

    Omg I never comment on blogs but thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for this recipe!! I have hormone imbalance issues and have been trying to incorporate maca into my diet but I hate it! No matter what I put it in I can’t stomach it. I read this recipe and decided to give it a try. I’m so grateful I did! This smoothie is delicious! I can still taste the maca slightly but it’s not to the point I can’t stomach it. This is going to be my go-to breakfast in the mornings from now on. You are a lifesaver!
