Motivation Monday

Have you ever felt like you just want to speed up life, because you’re not exactly where you want to be? Have you ever been in a job where you feel like you’re wasting your time, because you feel that there’s so much more out there for you? Have you ever felt like you’re behind everyone else, and that you should be so much further along in life?

It’s absolutely terrible feeling that way.

I’ve been there myself, and I’m going to bet that most of you have as well. Or maybe you’re experiencing that right now.

As hard as it can be at times, I believe life is so much about really experiencing each moment for what it is. Those times help you grow, and they’ve made you into who you are today.

When you stop fighting life so much, things can become easier. Hard work yields great rewards, and working towards what you want will get you closer to your goals, but appreciating each step along the way will only help to make it easier. Learning to appreciate the difficult times can completely turn your life around.

When I look back on my life, I can see that where I was at the time was just where I was supposed to be. Even the darkest of times, the times that flat out sucked, all served a big purpose in my life. These times all helped to place me in this exact spot today, and I believe that when you look back on your life, you’ll see the same.

It’s not always easy, but I promise it’s worth it. Stop trying to fight your life so much. Stop trying to figure everything out. Stop comparing yourself to others. Trust that this world has your back. When you look back on your past, can you see that everything happened just as it was meant to? Even during the really tough times, did you learn something from them? I’ll bet you did.

This week I simply want you to trust that you are exactly where you’re supposed to be.

I leave you with this challenge for the week ahead:

If you find yourself wishing you were further ahead in life, I want you to stop and do these three things:

  • Stop comparing yourself to others. Comparison is truly the thief of joy. It doesn’t matter what anyone else is doing, just focus on your own life.
  • Stop trying to fight the experience that you’re currently in. It’s so much easier when you just let everything be as it’s meant to be.
  • Trust that you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be, because you are.

I’d love to hear from you in the comments!

Do you have an easy or difficult time trusting that life will work out?

Have you ever felt behind or felt like life has more to offer you?

This could not be any more perfect for me right now, thank you so much! There is a quote by Nancy Levin that I love and often tell myself when I’m feeling behind in life — “honor the space between no longer and not yet.” It is so important to trust the process and remember that every decision we’ve made leading us to now has been the right decision. Easier said than done, but I’m trying. You did a wonderful job with this post! Thank you!

I really love that quote, thank you so much for sharing! It’s definitely easier said than done, but you should be proud of yourself for trying! <3

I don’t know how your posts are always so relevant but I love these! I don’t know another blog that does these and find myself checking back every few days:) When I’m going through tougher times I do find it hard to trust life! My life right now is in no way what I expected in both positive and negative aspects. Just last night I was lying in bed, thinking about how if only I was out of this rut. I think one of the best points is to not fight what I’m currently experiencing. It almost sounds contradictory, but I too have found that when you accept yourself and your situation, it’s so much easier to improve than if you spend all your energy trying to combat it.

I’m so happy that these are helping you! I actually haven’t seen this on any other blogs either, and I’m really loving writing them every week 🙂 They’re a great reminder, even for myself. It’s so true, it does sound counterintuitive to think about not fighting what you’re experiencing, but I’ve really found it helps so much just to let this world do it’s thing sometimes. <3
